Garrett Jin Takes Profits on ZEC, Cuts UNI, but Keeps Holding His Massive BTC Long. Garrett Jin has started trimming some of his altcoin exposure, closing both his ZEC and UNI positions. The results were mixed. He exited his $ZEC long with a realized profit of approximately $417,000, while closing his UNI long for a loss of around $314,000. Combined, those trades leave him with a modest net gain, but they're far from the biggest story. The real focus remains his enormous Bitcoin position. Despite reducing exposure elsewhere, Garrett is still holding a 1,268 $BTC long worth approximately $79.69 million. And right now, it's deep loss. Unrealized Loss: More than $16.75M. Garrett chose to realize profits on a winning ZEC trade and cut a losing $UNI position, yet left his largest and most painful position untouched. That suggests his conviction remains firmly centered on Bitcoin. For now, Garrett's portfolio has become much simpler: ZEC closed. UNI closed. BTC remains the main bet. #ZEC Update: Why I Think More Base Building Is Needed A lot of traders are asking whether Zcash is ready to resume its uptrend. My view is that price likely needs more time. The reason isn't bearishness. It's structure. When ZEC exploded from the $170 area to over $700, it moved through the $300-$350 region so quickly that very little true price discovery occurred there. The market never really accepted that area as fair value. The longest consolidation around that zone was only about 12 days. Since then, price has also fallen back through the same region just as quickly. This creates what I consider "unfinished business" on the chart. Strong bull markets are often built on solid foundations. The healthiest scenario may not be an immediate rally back to new highs, but rather a period of consolidation around the $300 level where: • Weak hands exit • Strong hands accumulate • Momentum resets • Moving averages catch up • The market establishes a new base I'm also watching the daily RSI, which continues to show bearish divergence. Momentum has been making lower highs even as price attempted to recover. Could ZEC move higher immediately? Of course. But from a structural standpoint, several weeks or even months of base building around the $300 region would create a much healthier foundation for a sustainable advance later. $ZEC This is where Zcash gets its chance to prove my relief rally thesis wrong. So far, we've seen the chart rally up to the shoulder base at $520, then correct 20% back into the previous lower high at $440. If it holds $440 and forms a higher low, it still has enough structure for another breakout attempt, which would invalidate my thesis. On the other hand, if it loses $440, it confirms the relief rally set the macro lower high, and we've likely seen the November fractal play out. Personally, I'm predicting a little bounce here, then continuation lower. Just calling it as I see it.
