@cculianu wrote Fulcrum, the middleware software used by @cakewallet and other major wallets for SPV communication with Bitcoin nodes.
He originally built it for Bitcoin Cash $BCH because he was unhappy with the existing options.
He later added $BTC support specifically to stress-test her mempool code, since BCH rarely has a full mempool but BTC frequently does.
Initially some BCH community members objected to giving BTC users access to the software.
He overruled them on the grounds that more bug reports and feature requests from BTC users would improve the codebase for everyone.
